During his career, Reed has collaborated with renowned jazz musicians such as Wynton Marsalis, Clark Terry, Elvin Jones, Joe Henderson, Freddie Hubbard, Ron Carter, Christian McBride, Dianne Reeves and Cassandra Wilson. The Jazz Ex Tempore is an intercultural and educational project which deals with traditional music heritage.

The starting point is the search for similarities and differences in traditional music expression that later merge into modern jazz music, with key idea being the one on preservation of cultural heritage and cultural identity.

Jazz Ex Tempore is a meeting of the significant artists from several countries which compose, rehearse and play along the new and original repertoire during a one-week event. Each of them brings their own traditional music idioms and original compositions, that are going to be explored together, interactively rearranged, rehearsed, and performed at the end of the meeting.

This year's edition of the Jazz Ex Tempore project explores sounds of the "Northern Silence" - it deals and compares a Croatian and Norwegian music tradition, interpreted by the language of Jazz.

Musicisans from two completely different (even in some segments also very similar) music tradition, will tell their story, share it together and will create a new music, on the spot - combining the best from both worlds.

The connecting factor is a common language, the language of the jazz - which they all speak fluently, everyone with their own accent - creating a colorful difference in a common expression and creation of the new music.

Dani Jelačića

Jelačić Days is a traditional event in Zaprešić that is held three times per year, to commemorate the birth (October) and death (May) of Ban Josip Jelačić, and on the feast day of St. Joseph (March). Josip Jelačić was a Croatian Ban (viceroy) who symbolised the aspirations of the Croatian peoples for independence from imperial conquerors. After a tumultuous life spent battling for the Croatian interests, he was buried in the Chapel of St. Joseph in Zaprešić in 1859. Therefore, on the Town Day, the people of Zaprešić celebrate the life and work of this great historical figure. The event includes a series of activities, including the Jelačić Ball, equestrian jumping tournament, scooter rally, bicycle rally, International Commercial Fair, and others. Visitors can also see the Jelačić Novi Dvori complex, a valuable example of preserved cultural and historical heritage.
